Prompt: An adventurer, bard and fairy tale creature walk into a tavern
Dialogue Sample
INT. TAVERN - EVENING
An adventurer and bard take a quick rest from their
travels in a tired, but cosy looking tavern. Apart from
the servant woman fretting at the bar, there are only
two other patrons in the establishment, sitting in one
of the corners.
A selkie walks in a few paces behind.
SERVANT WOMAN
(to the adventurer and
bard)
Oh welcome, welcome! It's lovely
to see new faces around 'ere!
Please take a seat anywhere ya
like.
The servant woman looks at the sea creature
apprehensively, but welcomes her to sit anyway.
The adventurer and bard go to sit by the window. Before
they have the chance to take off their coats, a tomte
(no taller than 3 feet) has already slammed two big
mugs of beer in front of them. He scurries to the table
occupied by the selkie.
ADVENTURER
Very efficient.
The adventurer and bard clink their mugs and take a
sip. The servant woman walks over.
SERVANT WOMAN
Sorry about that, he's usually
much more welcomin'. I suppose 'e
feels a bit abandoned, what with
the owner not looking after the
place an' all.
BARD
What happened to the owner?
SERVANT WOMAN
Oh nothin'! His wife though...
(glances at the selkie)
Let's just say there's a reason
everyone's been more wary of the
sea folk lately.
